Pallet Shippers for Cold Chain Freight
The right system starts with the load and the lane. Size matters, but it is only one part of the choice, so you also need to consider the target range, trip length and freight mode. Return plans and storage space can matter too.
CCT's range covers chilled and controlled room temperature loads. Selected systems also support frozen and ultra-cold needs, with formats including sub-pallet, single-pallet and double-pallet sizes.
Some systems use water-based coolants, while others use phase change materials, known as PCM. Selected ultra-cold systems can use dry ice. Each design is built for a defined use and tested against set profiles.
Use the CCT Solution Selector Tool to compare systems by region, size, temperature, duration and use type.
Single-Use Pallet Shippers
Single-use systems can suit routes where returns are hard to manage. They can also help when a purchase model fits the supply chain better.
The CCT Edge Core family is designed for bulk cold chain loads and uses water-based refrigerants. It has options for +2°C to +8°C and +15°C to +25°C, with qualified versions offering up to 120 hours of protection.
CCT Edge Plus uses PCM-based refrigerants and is available in a wider range of payload sizes. The family includes single and double pallet formats for long routes. Some larger formats can also arrive flat-packed to reduce storage and inbound freight needs.
Reusable Pallet Shippers
Reusable systems can be a strong fit for repeat routes and can help reduce reliance on one-way packaging when return flows are in place.
CCT's reusable pallet solutions include the Tower Elite, KTM range and KT400D. The CCT Tower Elite is a universal pallet shipper with about 1,600 litres of payload space and accepts both US and Euro pallet footprints.
The Tower Elite supports several temperature ranges and 120-hour qualified performance. It also includes built-in tracking and temperature monitoring features.
Other CCT Tower models cover sub-pallet and larger payload needs, with selected systems made for deep frozen or ultra-cold loads. Selected reusable systems are also available through CCT rental programs, with conditioned or unconditioned delivery depending on the program and region.
Thermal Covers and PCM Protection
A full pallet shipper is not always the best fit. Some routes need added protection around a palletized load instead.
CCT offers thermal covers and the CCT Enshield PCM thermal blanket system. Enshield combines a pallet-cover format with PCM-based protection, with options for chilled, controlled room temperature and frozen uses.
Thermal covers can add protection at exposed points in the route, including loading, unloading, tarmac waits and transfers between sites.
Tested for Real Cold Chain Needs
A pallet shipper must do more than fit the load. It must keep the required range through the expected route.
CCT provides thermal qualification services for packaging systems. Work can include design, operational and performance qualification, helping document how a system performs within defined limits and expected conditions.
CCT can also support custom development when a standard product does not fit the full need.
Find the Right Pallet Shippers
CCT has more than 50 years of cold chain experience and supports life science manufacturers, distributors, logistics firms, clinical trials and other global supply chains.
The best choice depends on the product, route and operating model. Product availability can also vary by region.
