FRANKLIN, Mass., April 24, 2023 — Cold Chain Technologies, LLC (“CCT” or “Company”), a leading global provider of thermal packaging solutions for the transportation of temperature-sensitive products for the life sciences industry, is excited to announce in celebration of Earth Day 2023 their achievement of avoiding over 44 million pounds of waste from landfills to date, which surpasses the original goal of 30 million pounds by the end of 2023. Additionally, CCT was awarded a 2023 Silver medal sustainability rating from EcoVadis, the world’s only universal sustainability ratings provider who assesses companies and their commitments to ESG (environmental, social, and governance).
Earth Day 2023’s theme is a continuation of last year’s “Invest in Our Planet.” According to a news release, the theme focuses on accountability by “engaging governments, institutions, businesses, and the more than one billion citizens who participate annually in Earth Day to do their part.” CCT’s extensive portfolio of sustainable single use and reusable offerings coupled with their digital platform, CCT Smart SolutionsTM, has poised the company as a leader in taking real action and responsibility for the environment. In addition, the Silver medal sustainability rating from EcoVadis ranks CCT in the top 17% of companies in the industry from an ESG perspective.
Apart from the progress CCT is making towards driving a strong reduction in landfill waste and the active expansion of their sustainable portfolio of products, the company is also adding digital capabilities and applications which will help customers estimate the impact of their shift from a traditional EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) / PUR (Polyurethane) shipper to a single use sustainable or reusable shipper through the launch of the “CCT Eco-calculator” application as part of the CCT Smart Solutions suite of digital solutions.
“CCT continues to be strongly committed to offering our customers smart, high performing solutions for optimizing packaging selection, shipment monitoring, predictive analytics, and decision support, thereby, leveraging technology to drive a stronger impact on the environment,” said Ranjeet Banerjee, CEO of Cold Chain Technologies. “As we did last year on Earth Day, we will continue to advance our focus on sustainability across all our offerings. For this year’s Earth day, we are excited to be expanding CCT’s single use sustainable offerings by launching 100% curbside recyclable parcel shippers in the EMEA region as well as for our Last Mile customers in North America. We will be showcasing these products at the upcoming LogiPharma tradeshow in Lyon, France (April 25–27) and the AXS23 Summit in Las Vegas, Nevada (April 30–May 4).”
