Business Intelligence (BI) Data Visualization Developer

Summary:

The Business Intelligence (BI) Data Visualization Developer is responsible for developing and enhancing management reporting, dashboards, metrics, and analysis as part of the reporting systems used by Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Customers and Business Partners to make better decisions. This position will also support user requests by translating functional requirements into easy-to-use, flexible reports, dashboards, metrics and analysis.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Translate business needs to technical specifications
• Design, build and deploy BI and data visualization solutions (e.g. web-based dashboards & reporting tools)
• Maintain and support data analytics platforms (e.g. Epicor EDA, Microsoft Power BI, web-based portals)
• Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes, data warehouses)
• Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
• Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate requirements & systems
• Lead discussions with internal resources, external customers and partners to envision and define data reporting requirements.
• Develop and execute data queries to support analyses
• Create/deploy visualizations and reports for requested projects supporting both internal & external facing users
• Develop and update technical documentation
• Provide friendly, courteous and quality support to all users; respond to incoming telephone calls, voicemails, web-submissions, emails and face to face requests for assistance from users experiencing problems
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

• BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related discipline OR 4+ years of BI/Data Visualization related experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Experience as a BI/Data Visualization Developer
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, R) and/ or DAX
• ERP experience (Epicor ERP a strong plus)
• Microsoft Azure experience is a plus
• Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
• Understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
• Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Epicor EDA, Epicor BAQs, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Qlikview, etc.)
• Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Web-based deployment, IIS and CSS skills
• Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude

• Strong User Interface and User Experience skills
