Cold Chain's management team is focused on providing high quality services and products around the world. Each individual is experienced and accomplished in their area of expertise. Together as a team, Cold Chain functions as an efficient operation that puts customers service first.

Larry Gordon, President

Larry has led Cold Chain through tremendous growth for the past 11 years. A graduate of MIT's Sloan School of Management, Larry also earned a B.S. in chemical engineering, cum laude from Tufts University. For 20 years prior to Cold Chain, he held several senior-level strategic management positions. At Cold Chain, Larry's vision has resulted in significant expansion of the company's product lines, technical services, and manufacturing locations. Larry is most proud of the team of talented and dedicated professionals at Cold Chain Technologies who continue to create and deliver new solutions for our client's growing needs.

Bob Bohne, Vice President, General Manager

Bob is responsible for all areas of manufacturing operations, materials management, quality assurance, engineering, finance, HR and IT. Bob has over 25 years of experience managing manufacturing and engineering operations in firms serving the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical instrument, and academic laboratory markets. Bob's primary focus at Cold Chain is on the continued growth and development of the staff and its capabilities, production capacity, service levels, and operational efficiency. His main goal is to position CCT to better serve our customers as our targeted market segments grow, and as we simultaneously increase our market share. Bob holds a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University.

TJ Rizzo, Director of Sales & Marketing

TJ is responsible for Cold Chain's sales, marketing, and customer service departments, and continued growth initiatives. Previously he managed key accounts as a Strategic Account Engineer for Cold Chain. TJ has direct contact with clients, as well as corporate responsibilities. TJ is also extensively involved in industry groups including the PCCIG "Last Mile" task force and "Risk Management for Temperature Controlled Distribution" task forces. TJ has a strong understanding of industry requirements including USP 1079, PDA Technical Report 39, and FDA regulations as well as logistics as they pertain to the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. TJ graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and is pursuing his M.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts.

Geoff Kaiser, Director of Engineering and Technical Services

Geoff Kaiser manages research and development, internal new product development, custom solutions development for specific client applications, project engineering and technical account management. He also oversees all technical services, which include our highly regarded laboratory testing and qualification services, KoolDesigns, our industry-leading analytical thermal modeling, and cold chain management consulting, auditing and thermal mapping. Geoff has over 20 years of experience including product development, project management, program management, and engineering department management. Geoff holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UMass Amherst, and a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Rose Callahan, Operations Manager

Rose is responsible for production, quality, plant engineering, shipping, receiving and warehousing, as well as environmental, health and safety activities. Recently promoted from the position of Quality Manager, Rose continues to coordinate Cold Chain’s Lean Initiatives. For 17 years, she held a similar position at Eastman Gelatine Corporation, a subsidiary of Eastman Kodak Company. Along with a B.A. in biology from Northeastern University, Rose brings to Cold Chain a depth of knowledge of quality systems, inventory control, and supply chain. She is working closely with Cold Chain's entire management team to implement lean operation and manufacturing initiatives, and enhance quality control and customer service.

David McDonald, Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs Manager

David provides direction for Cold Chain in the areas of customer communication, product and supplier quality, lean/Six Sigma projects, internal audits and cGMP compliance. He brings over 20 years of quality systems experience in manufacturing and has led three organizations to ISO9001 certification. Prior to joining Cold Chain, David was responsible for leading quality, cost and process improvement initiatives within a variety of industries, most recently an ISO13485 medical device environment. With a strong customer focus, his primary goal is to develop Cold Chain's quality system to consistently meet customer expectations for all their thermal packaging needs. David holds a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.A. in Business and Policy Studies from the State University of New York, with an emphasis in quality management systems. He is a member of the Worcester section of the American Society for Quality (ASQ).

Raffaele Potami Ph.D., Senior Mechanical Engineer

Raffaele is participating in special R&D projects, thermal design optimization, and the application of KoolDesigns, CCT's predictive thermal modeling software. KoolDesigns is a tool that increases design speed of new shippers by an iterative optimized approach. A postdoctoral researcher and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnical Institute, Potami brings a wealth of experience and expertise in writing, running and analyzing CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), which is used in KoolDesigns. Potami also holds bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Rome.

Richard Formato, Principal Thermal Engineer

Rich Formato's primary focus is in the areas of thermal science and materials research, and advanced predictive modeling. Rich holds B.S. (UMass) and M.S. (WPI) degrees in Mechanical Engineering with concentrations in Thermal/Fluids and Mechanics of Materials. He has authored numerous publications, holds several patents, and has held lead technical positions in the optical lens, fuel cell, and material science fields. Rich has secured and managed several SBIR research grants. The addition of Rich represents our commitment to remain the technical leader within the markets we serve, providing the scientific basis and technical understanding required to develop robust, high-performing solutions.
