The KoolWatch electronic temperature indicator, developed at Cold Chain Technologies (CCT), accurately monitors two low and two high preprogrammed threshold temperatures (between -20°C and +60°C), and will indicate time and duration of a temperature breach (up to 6.8 days), if applicable. (See illustration on back for more temperature control details.) For refrigerated applications, the KoolWatch is accurate within ±0.5°C. The KoolWatch is programmable, easy-to-use, and lightweight (0.5 ounces). It may be activated with a delayed start time of up to 99 minutes. It is more reliable and accurate than chemical indicators, which may give false positive readings.
Prior to delivery, Cold Chain Technologies will program your precise time-temperature requirements in either Celsius or Fahrenheit. As part of the programming process, each KoolWatch is quality checked to ensure full operational performance.
Instructions for Use
Storage: The shelf life of the KoolWatch is two years from date of programming. Preconditioning and special storage are not required.
Activation: Before starting a programmed KoolWatch, temperature, time and sampling interval settings may be viewed by pushing the button for less than four seconds.
To start a programmed KoolWatch, push the button for four seconds or more.* Once deployed, press the button (for one to four seconds) to view elapsed time and most recent temperature, as well as temperature, time, and sampling interval settings.
Interpretation of Results:
Once started, the KoolWatch LCD screen will always display either a blinking "OK" or a "Not OK" icon. As long as the temperature monitored by the KoolWatch remains within the programmed time / temperature bounds, this icon will display "OK." If the temperature of the environment being monitored should exceed the specified thresholds, the "OK" icon will display a slash across it indicating "Not OK." In addition, the direction of the temperature excursion (above or below) is shown by an upward- or downward-pointing arrow that will appear either above or below the "Not OK" icon. Upon receipt of a shipment, the receiver can verify its integrity by pressing the button to view the time and temperature at which the shipment breached the threshold, if applicable, and review the programmed settings. If a breach occurs, the data recorded by the KoolWatch is permanent and tamperproof.
