T he innovative, thoroughly tested KoolTemp GTS is an insulated shipping box that provides 48 hours of 2°C to 8°C protection year round for your temperature-sensitive products. Lightweight (36 lbs.), easily packed, and environmentally safe, the GTS is an excellent choice for shipping temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare products, and medical devices.

The GTS has been fully pre-qualified in our ISTA certified and cGMP compliant lab. ISTA 5B (thermal testing) and ISTA 2A (integrity/ physical testing) have been performed at minimum and maximum loads, using both liquid and lyophilized product, under both summer and winter conditions. The GTS has also been qualified for 72 hours at -20°C using dry ice. Payload-specific qualification is available upon request.

Milestone Achievement

Cold Chain's ongoing efforts in R&D, testing and process engineering have resulted in a perfect blend of simplicity and exacting thermal control. Our engineers have leveraged their:

• thermodynamic knowledge of convective and conductive heat transfer as applied to passively controlled molded rigid polyurethane containers;
• creation and use of Cold Chain Lab's proprietary predictive modeling software, KoolDesigns™ and;
• vast experience and intellectual property gained from years of designing and qualifying thousands of thermal designs in our state-of-the-art laboratories, which feature multiple walk-in thermal chambers.

The GTS high R-value custom polyurethane formulation exceeds the performance of all other foams including: expanded polystyrene (EPS), extruded polystyrene (XPS), and other rigid polyurethanes. This polyurethane container is thermally charged and balanced by fitting the Koolit bricks into their separate coolant compartments away from the product area. The entire container is then thermally sealed using a uniquely shaped hard cover that securely fits onto the base.
