Freeze Watch single-use temperature monitors provide an indication of descending low temperatures. Available in two models (-4°C, 0°C), they utilize a chemically activated, irreversible dye color change that occurs when the monitored environment reaches a specified low threshold temperature (+/-1.5°C). When exposed to this temperature, the liquid dye in the temperature indicator freezes, which causes it to fracture and stain the indicator paper. Freeze Watches require special thermal packaging with overnight shipping to prevent a false positive reading prior to use.

Instructions for Use

Storage: The shelf life of the Freeze Watch is four years from date of manufacture. Store the Freeze Watch indicators in a temperature environment no colder than 5°C above the response temperature. Application: Peel off the liner on the back of the indicator, and secure the Freeze Watch inside

Interpretation of Results: The appearance of color in the Freeze Watch indicator’s ampule indicates that the specified low threshold temperature has been reached. If there is no color staining, remove the indicator from the surface to which it is attached. Vigorously tap the bottom edge of the indicator three times on a hard surface. If a color stain is now visible, the product has been exposed to the specified low temperature. If there is no color stain after tapping, the low threshold temperature has not been reached. Tapping an indicator will not cause color staining if an indicator has not been exposed to the specified low temperature.
