Davis New Director of Global Logistics | Cold Chain Tech

Accomplished Veteran Professional Joins Market-Leading Manufacturer

HOLLISTON, MA, August 31, 2015 – Cold Chain Technologies (CCT), a leading provider of temperature-controlled distribution solutions for the life sciences industry, is pleased to announce the addition of Mark S. Davis as Director of Global Logistics Services.

In this newly created position, Davis’ primary role will be to further develop logistics-related strategies and programs and to expand the company’s partnerships with external logistics providers.

“Mark’s experience will serve us well as we broaden our capabilities to meet the growing market demand for logistically-integrated cold chain distribution solutions, domestically and internationally,” said Cold Chain President Bob Bohne.

“Airlines, freight forwarders and other logistics providers are increasingly integrating shipping solutions with their transportation service offerings to better serve pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturers and other life science distributors who are seeking end-to-end cold chain solutions.  With Mark leading our Logistics strategy team, we’re strongly positioned to meet this evolving need.”

Prior to joining CCT, Davis served as the Global Cold Chain Product Manager for United Parcel Service (UPS) in Atlanta, GA. While there, he served as a key architect of the UPS worldwide cold chain platform, developing and managing strategy, operating procedures, personnel, training, sales support and vendor selection.

Previous to that, he was Administration Manager at Baxter Healthcare Corporation in Deerfield, IL, where he was responsible for the company’s domestic and international distribution network, procurement, planning, materials and other administrative operations.  A graduate of Boston College, Davis has published countless industry articles on supply chain management and brings more than 30 years of industry experience to his new position.

“The market is looking for providers who can supply both shippers and logistics management in a highly integrated fashion, providing robust protection from beginning to end,” continues Bohne.  “Mark has tremendous experience in this area.  Whether he’s focusing on internal logistics strategies to ensure best-in-class distribution of our existing products to our current customers or developing expansive new solutions for the external logistics market, his contribution will be instrumental to our success.”
