Together, these individuals work to provide state of the art thermal packaging and optimal customer service.
Since 1997, Larry has led Cold Chain through its tremendous growth from a regional thermal packaging manufacturer to a global provider of temperature controlled shipping solutions for life science industries. As its CEO, Larry is focused on overseeing strategic and long-term planning of the company to ensure that it maintains its prominent position within the industry. He is particularly proud of the collaborative group of talented and dedicated professionals at Cold Chain who design and deliver ever-expanding solutions for our client’s growing needs. For 20 years prior to Cold Chain, Larry held several senior-level engineering, marketing and strategic management positions. A graduate of MIT’s Sloan School of Management, Larry also earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University.
Bob is highly focused on accelerating Cold Chain’s already vigorous growth and building upon the successes of the past 15 years with new, innovative solutions and services. “The growing temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and life science distribution market presents a myriad of opportunities for us to better serve our global customers with a more impactful and expansive offering which will strengthen our position as an industry and technical leader.” Prior to assuming the role as President, Bob was responsible for developing the Operations, Finance, IT, HR, Engineering and Quality functions and staff to support significant growth and strategic initiatives. Prior to joining Cold Chain in 2007, Bob had over 25 years of experience managing manufacturing and engineering operations in firms serving the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical instrument and life science laboratory markets. Bob holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University.
Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing
TJ is responsible for Cold Chain’s sales, marketing, and customer service departments, as well as continued growth initiatives. Previously, he managed key accounts as a Strategic Account Engineer for Cold Chain. TJ has direct contact with clients, as well as corporate responsibilities. He is also extensively involved in industry groups including the PCCIG “Last Mile” task force and “Risk Management for Temperature Controlled Distribution” task force. TJ has a strong understanding of industry requirements and FDA regulations as well as logistics as they pertain to the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. TJ has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts.
Director of Engineering & Technical Services
Geoff Kaiser manages research and development, internal new product development, custom solutions development for specific client applications, project engineering and technical account management. He also oversees all technical services, including our highly regarded laboratory testing and qualification services, KoolDesigns, industry-leading analytical thermal modeling, and cold chain management consulting, auditing and thermal mapping. Geoff has over 20 years of experience including product development, project, program and engineering department management. Geoff has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.
Director of Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs
Rose provides direction in quality, regulatory affairs, customer communication, product and supplier quality, and internal audits. With a strong customer focus, her primary goal is to develop Cold Chain’s quality system to consistently meet customer expectations for all their thermal packaging needs. Along with over 20 years of manufacturing and quality systems experience, Rose offers a depth of knowledge of quality systems, inventory control, and supply chain. She has a B.A. in Biology from Northeastern University, is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), and a member of the Merrimack Valley Section of the American Society for Quality (ASQ).
Rich Formato’s primary focus is in the areas of thermal science and materials research, and advanced predictive modeling. He has authored numerous publications, holds several patents, and has held lead technical positions in the optical lens, fuel cell, and material science fields. Rich has secured and managed several research grants and represents our commitment to remain the technical leader within the markets we serve. He has a B.S. from the University of Massachusetts and an M.S. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, both in Mechanical Engineering.
